One of the up sides to living in the middle of nowhere is your neighbors. While the human variety may be few and far between, we are often visited by our wildlife neighbors. Roe deer and red deer are common, and we see them nearly every day in the summer.
About a week later, this roe pair, a doe and a buck, grazed their way from the field into our yard. While that’s pretty common, I found it unusual that they stopped every few minutes to butt heads. I wonder why? I imagine June is too early for courtship behavior.
